Windows 8 Release Preview atau nama lainnya Windows 8 Consumer Preview dirilis secara resmi oleh Pihak Windows pada bulan Februari tahun 2012 adalah keluaran pertama dari generasi Windows 8 dan hasil pengembangan dari Windows 7.

Windows 8 ini dilengkapi dengan fitur touchscreen yang canggih, dan dapat menggunakan optical mouse pula. Tampilan yang dinamis dan elegan membuat banyak orang ingin untuk mempunyai Windows ini.

Windows ini juga memiliki beberapa fitur antara lain :

1. Internet Explorer 9

2. Xbox Live Apps

3. Apps Store Windows

4. Windows Defender

5. Apps Bar

6. Cloud Service

Kecanggihan lain dari windows ini adalah tidak dapat dideteksi ini adalah windows bajakan, karena pihak Microsoft telah memberikan Serial Number resmi untuk Windows 8 ini.

Additional requirements to use certain features:

To use touch, you need a tablet or a monitor that supports multitouch.

To access the Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.

To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768.
